Muellers' Run

When listening to conversations on the lifts, you might hear someone talk about how spectacular "Defiance" is. Try as you might, you won't find Defiance on the map.

Tim and Diane Mueller (pronounced mull-ur) bought Okemo in 1982, rescuing it from the edge of bankruptcy. The Muellers invested in and expanded Okemo until they sold it in 2008 (though they retained operational control for another 10 years). In 2018, after Vail Resorts bought Okemo, they renamed Defiance in honor of the Muellers.

The trail rolls from right to left before a short flat section. The final surprise is a steep but short headwall.

From the bottom, you may go right to the top of the Sachem Quad or take the Scooter shortcut over to Link to access Lower Chief or Lower World Cup.
