Trail of the Day

Main Face

♦︎ Nor'Easter

1962

When viewing Okemo from downtime Ludlow, Nor'easter is the most recognizable trail. It's the one that aims straight down from the summit. Likewise, the views from Nor'easter of downtown and the surrounding valley are are great.

The trail is straight because it follows the line of one of the original surface lifts at Okemo, Upper #1 or the Red Poma.

A short topmost section is often closed and not groomed. When that's the case, you'll start on Jolly Green Giant before jumping onto Nor'easter. From there it's a straight shot back down to the footstep of the Sugar House Lodge.

If you'd like a diversion, fork left onto the ungroomed Fast Lane under the Sunburst Six or fork right to Searle's Way on your way to Wardance.
