If you're into a relaxed ride up the mountain, Sachem will suit you well. In about 12 minutes, you rise nearly 1000 ft while you watch the Sunburst Six zoom up 50% higher in 2/3 of the time. But Sunburst Six's bubble makes it susceptible to wind holds. When that happens, you may need to do the long Sachem to Glades Peak combo to get to the Main Face summit.
The lift's 159 chairs (the most of all the Okemo lifts) creep over the bottom of the Sachem trail and then continue on over Ledges to a ridge. After the ridge the trail becomes Easy Street. Grooming is rare on Ledges, so you often get to witness people navigating rocks and grass on its' steep face.
You'll probably be relieved to get off Sachem and it seems to wants to get you off too. The chair dumps you onto a steep slope just in front of people crossing over to Link.
Once you've safely exited the lift, take a moment and check out the fenced-in snow stake directly ahead. It is the official measure of Okemo's snowfall. You can watch the snow accumulate via the webcam. If you position yourself right, you may may be able to take a webcam selfie.
Going right will bring you onto Link for a run down Lower World Cup. Continue across to Chute to access Lower Chief. On the left you can either head to the Glades Peak Quad (when open) or take the beginner Sachem trail right back to the bottom of the lift.
