You voted: Here's your favorite trails at Okemo

OkemoZone |

Thanks to all of you who voted in our survey to find the most loved trails at Okemo. There were some clear favorites and some surprises!

Here are top five vote getters from each area of the mountain.

Main Face

Noreaster

1. Nor'easter
2. Mueller's Run
3. Upper Sapphire
4. Upper Chief
5. Sachem

The top four are no surprise to us. Sachem did better than we expected as a green trail. We also thought there would be more love for the Mountain Road trails and World Cup.

If you were to combine votes for the Upper and Lower trails, Nor'easter would still come out on top with Mueller's hanging in there as the only other trail without two sections.

1. Nor'easter
2. Upper Sapphire
3. Mueller's Run
4. Upper Chief
5. World Cup

Solitude

Heavens Gate

1. Heaven's Gate
2. The Plunge
3. Screamin' Demon
4. Exhibition
5. Day Break & Sidewinder (tie)

Heaven's Gate was the clear winner. The Plunge was a sleeper vote here, beating out its neighbors Screamin' Demon and Boomerang. If the vote was solely by kids, we're sure Day Break would have trounced the others.

Jackson Gore

Tuckered Out

1. Tuckered Out
2. Eclipse
3. White Lightning
4. Big Bang
5. Quantum Leap

Nearly 2/3 of people voted for Tuckered Out. That's the largest percentage of votes amongst all areas. People just love that long and winding blue trail. Big Bang beating Quantum Leap was the surprise here. I guess people prefer the bumps over that massive headwall.

South Face

Stump Jumper

1. Stump Jumper
2. Blind Faith
3. Dream Weaver
4. Suncatcher
5. Upper Wild Thing

We love that Stump Jumper won here. It's our favorite too. We might have swapped Upper Wild Thing and Blind Faith, but that's OK. We wonder if people just haven't discovered Rossi Run yet. It's much longer and more interesting than Suncatcher in our opinion.

Clocktower

Kettlebrook

1. Kettle Brook
2. Homeward Bound
3. Lift Line
4. Ledgewood
5. Open Slope

The pond and tunnel make Kettle Brook more than just way to get to the Kettle Brook condos. It's a fun trail in its own right. Why didn't Ledgewood get the same love?

Terrain Parks

Gordons Garden

1. Gordon's Garden
2. Superpipe
3. The Zone
4. Tree Tap
5. Progression Park

Given all the hubbub over the Superpipe this year, we thought it would be the runaway winner. Instead, the scaled down Gordon's Garden was the most popular. Perhaps the Superpipe is too intimidating for most folks (us included) which may also explain why Progression Park came in last.

Glades

Whispering Pines

1. Whispering Pines
2. Whistler
3. Double Diamond
4. Loose Spruce, The Shadows and The Narrows (tie)

The intermediate glade Whispering Pines is popular with our crowd and you agreed. Whistler was a solid second. The only double black diamond to make the top 5 was Double Diamond. It's had a good year with 108 inches (and counting!) of natural snow piling up on it.

Thanks again for voting. We'll be featuring your favorite trails on OkemoZone for others to discover and enjoy.
